Enraged, Mosquito attacks with her stinger, which Killua easily dodges, but it was her poisonous tail that has struck Killua on the back. Killua goes into "assassin mode" and uses "The Snake Awakens", an assassination technique, to dismember Mosquito. On the other side of the field, Mosquito flies overhead, taunting her opponent. Realizing that Chimera Ants are tougher, Gon proceeds to use his Janken. ![]() Gon delivers a powerful blow on his opponent's left side, but Centipede only praises the power of his punch. Kite gives out the order: he would take Yunju, while Gon and Killua would fight against Centipede and Mosquito.Ĭentipede follows Gon and attacks him relentlessly with punches, which Gon effectively blocks. Then, Yunju declares that he would make the three Hunters his new dogs. Kite admonishes him for doing so, saying that turning away could lead to another attack. As Yunju proceeds to kill Rover, Gon turns away. From the other tunnels, two members from Yunju's squad appear: Mosquito and Centipede. Gon is about to rush towards them when Kite stops him. Rover immediately pants and howls like a dog, but Yunju admits that begging only motivates to kill him. He claims that he has become bored with his dogs. One of the men, identified as Spot, begins to call out for help. He accuses Kite and his group for trespassing his territory. Killua asks him about En, to which Kite replies that he could stretch his En up to forty-five-meter radius.įrom the middle tunnel, a centaur-like Chimera Ant named Yunju arrives, accompanied by two naked men crawling on the ground. As Gon begins to ask questions, Kite immediately hushes him, sensing the presence of few Chimera Ants. He assumes that only the leaders of NGL know about its existence and that the Chimera Ants have discovered the facility and wiped out all the workers. Kite leads the group within the cliff, to which Killua later identifies as a drug factory. When Gon speculates this to be the Chimera Ants' nest, Kite corrects him that the Ants do not make nests in holes. ![]() Kite, Gon and Killua outside the D² factoryĪfter defeating Rammot, Gon, Killua, and Kite further advance into the territory of NGL and come across a cliff. This is all well and good, as farther down this arc (after this one, actually), this foreshadowing will prove relevant. This satisfies all the requisites to set the stage for the events to follow. Ging is largely being portrayed as a ridiculously talented mastermind, capable of predicting and manipulating events to suit his purposes. This means that Kite and Gon will grow close even without the original events at the beginning of the series where Gon owed Kite for his decision to become a hunter. Killua deduced that Kite, once having found Ging and succeeded in that final mission, was deemed worthy of this next task: mentoring Gon. In a brief flashback we see a young Ging tell Eeta (or was it Elena?) to send Gon to Kite if he used accompany instead of magnetic force. He realized that even his meeting Kite was planned, and indeed it was. He understood how Greed Island helped him grow stronger and how meeting the people there helped him achieve more goals than he himself planned. Gon realizes how far-reaching his father’s influence truly is when he understood that Ging had planned everything out for him the moment he decided to chase after him – perhaps way back when he heard the recording Ging left for him. ![]()
